More Light Presbyterian Director to Speak

Alex Patchin McNeill, executive director of More Light Presbyterians (MLP) and the first openly transgender person to head a mainline Protestant organization, will preach at the Shepherdstown Presbyterian Church (SPC), Sunday, June 7 at the 8:15 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. services and hold a question and answer forum at 9:30 a.m. MLP is a support and advocacy organization dedicated to making the church more open and welcoming of all people. SPC is a MLP affiliate member. 
 

Shepherdstown Community Bible School

SAVE THE DATE! Shepherdstown Community Bible school is July 20–24, for children age 3 through middle school. High schoolers are encouraged to be teaching assistants and helpers. (Community service credit available!) Time is tentatively planned from 9–12. Themes and registration information will be announced soon.

Julia Springer convergent media art

Shepherdstown Presbyterian Church will host an exhibition of Julia Springer’s convergent media art from May 10 to June 7, 2015. An Artist’s Reception will be held at noon on Sunday, May 24 in the Fellowship Hall.

Disaster in Nepal

The children's Sunday Studio offering this Sunday, May 3 will go to our church's relief efforts in Nepal. At First Pew, Pastor Tremba will tell children about the ways the church can help and offer a prayer for the peoples and relief workers in Nepal.

If you'd like to help the Presbyterian Disaster Assistance is responding to the earthquake disaster, providing emergency relief and short term recovery with our partner, ACT Alliance and its members who are already on the ground.

SPC Solar Project Wins National Award!

In celebration of Earth Day, Interfaith Power & Light (IPL) has announced its annual Cool Congregations Challenge winners, and SPC's solar project just won a first place award as a renewable energy role model!

MEMORIAL SERVICE FOR MARIAN BUCKNER

Saturday • April 18 • 2 p.m. SPC Sanctuary
Friends will be recieved from 1 to 2 p.m at the church.  Memorial service at 2:00 p.m. followed by interment at Elmwood Cemetery. Following interment, a reception will be held at SPC in the Fellowship Hall. To view obituary go to Marian Buckner
