UNDERWEAR PROJECT: ASYLUM SEEKERS AT THE SOUTHERN US BORDER

SPC’s Immigration and Refugee Support Committee has learned of a desperate need at a new port of entry in Laredo, TX. Most of the asylum seekers have been walking for weeks and have only the clothes they are wearing—and no shoelaces. They have no means to support themselves until they connect with a family member or sponsor in the US. Our colleagues at Catholic Charities, who recently worked in the Laredo center, have asked us for help.

Sunday, January 20 Update: No 8:30 AM Service, Sunday Seminar or Youth Fundraiser

In the interests of being both realistic and safe, we have decided to cancel the 8:30 AM Worship Service on January 20 ahead of predictions of a significant ice event. Weather permitting, you are invited to join us for worship at 11 AM.

Also the Adult Sunday Seminar, as well as the youth sponsored brunch / bake sale after both services, will not take place this week.

Our apologies for not doing a better job of managing the weather. As the Psalmist says:
