Earth Care
SPC believes caring for the Earth is central to our faith.
As climate change disproportionately affects those on the margins, we support policies and practices that protect people and the planet. We engage in education, advocacy, and sustainable living
Inclusion & Equity
SPC affirms the full dignity and humanity of all people — celebrating all gender identities and sexual orientations in the life of the church.
Justice & Peace
In 2023, SPC hosted West Virginia’s first Guns to Gardens event, part of a PC(USA)-recognized national ministry which turns unwanted guns into garden tools and art. So far, 72 firearms have been voluntarily surrendered and transformed from weapons into symbols of life.
Systemic Poverty
As a Matthew 25 church, SPC focuses on eradicating poverty and its root causes, especially homelessness and food insecurity. Matthew 25 is a call to restore broken systems and build beloved communities where everyone can thrive. We cultivate economic wholeness when we act to eliminate the destructive influence of poverty on people and communities.
