In 2023, SPC hosted West Virginia’s first Guns to Gardens event, part of a PC(USA)-recognized national ministry which turns unwanted guns into garden tools and art. So far, 72 firearms have been voluntarily surrendered and transformed from weapons into symbols of life.
Our peace work and advocacy also reaches across borders
We send aid to our southern border and to those in detention.
We support immigrant families with holiday gifts, school supplies, and ongoing advocacy.
We support groups like CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), EPEC (for domestic abuse survivors), Presbyterian Children’s Home of the Highlands, VERBO scholarships in Nicaragua, and SABEEL, advocating for Palestinian justice and peace.
